Chance upon this book when a colleague of mine asked me to return on her behalf. Well, guz its good to pick a technique or two for those who would like to extract some truths from your bf, gf, wife, husbands, colleagues, bossess..etc..
Till todate, have read through 60% of the books. There are some good scenarios analysis given to illustrate the points discussed. It describes on the ways to detect if a person is telling lies, mainly through the body language and the words used. Also a large part of it talks about techniques to 'interrogate' a person without the person knowing that he/she is being interrogated.
Well, end of the day, its how your mind choose to percieve it. There may be tons of lies indicators but its you who choose what to believe. These are just guides.
Quite an interesting reference for those who like to find out more in this area. You can get this book from most of the national libraries. :P
here's an extract:
Truth or Consequences With this...you force your antagonist to wirk with you or you both end up with nothing. Here the person has nothing unless he cooperates with you. Since you have nothing anyway (meaning you dun have the truth), its a gd tradeoff for you. The following parable illustrates this point nicely.
A greedy and evil watermelon farmer realises that someone has been stealing one watermelon from him each night. Try as he might, he cannot catch the thief. Frustrated and annoyed, one afternoon he goes into his vast watermelon patch and injects one of the melons with a lethal poison. Not to be totally cruel, he posts a sign that reads, " To the person who is stealing from me: I have posioned one of the watermelons. Steal from me, and you will be risking your life." The next morning he goes out, and while he's pleased that to see that the thief has not struck, he finds a note left for him. "Dear farmer: Tonight i do have posioned one of your watermelons. Now we can either work together or they will all rot."

This Chinese movie is about a writer who ends up living through the ghost stories that she is working on, particularly, those parts of the stories which she has discarded in the process of writing. The media in general has given good review for this movie. But was a disappointment to me. Much of the transitions in the the movie, from 1 scene to another were not well handled.Felt the abruptness when it moved from scene to scene, especially from the middle part when the writer starts her journey in the her own stories. There is no connections. Probably the emphasis on the show was on effects, overwhelmed with it in fact.
Was kinda scary for the first 20mins of the movie before it moves onto the special effects bit. And thats the me the more commendable part of the whole show.
For those who have not catch it, can do without and it wun be a great miss.
